What we treat
-
Ketamine has shown remarkable effectiveness in relieving symptoms of depression, including cases that have not improved with traditional medications. Unlike antidepressants that can take weeks, many patients experience improvement within hours to days after treatment. When combined with therapy, ketamine helps create new brain connections that support healthier thought patterns, offering both rapid relief and the possibility of longer-lasting change.
-
Research indicates that ketamine can reduce symptoms of generalized and social anxiety by calming overactive brain circuits and fostering resilience. The treatment works quickly and, when paired with therapy, can help patients break free from cycles of worry and avoidance. For many who have not responded to standard anti-anxiety medications, ketamine offers a new pathway to regaining balance and control.
-
Ketamine is increasingly used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by reducing the intensity of trauma-related memories and symptoms such as hypervigilance, flashbacks, and intrusive thoughts. Its ability to promote neuroplasticity allows patients to process traumatic experiences more effectively in therapy, making it easier to rewrite unhelpful memory patterns and build a greater sense of safety.
-
Ketamine is also being applied to mood conditions that often resist standard treatment, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), postpartum depression, and bipolar depression. In these cases, ketamine’s rapid effects and its role in opening a window of neuroplasticity give patients and therapists new opportunities to reduce symptoms and support recovery where few options have been effective.
How we work
-
Get in touch, and a Nomad representative will answer any questions you may have.
-
Get in touch today and we’ll schedule an initial evaluation with a Nomad Clinician. During your appointment, your Nomad Clinician will review your medical history, discuss your goals of treatment, and help determine if Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is right for you.
-
Nomad typically prescribes six Ketamine treatment sessions over the course of three weeks. This treatment regimen is considered the “gold standard” and has the most supporting clinical evidence.
We offer Intramuscular (IM) injections, administered by a Registered Nurse in your home or your therapist’s office. IM injections offer near perfect bioavailability, meaning almost 100% of the dose reaches its intended target. This allows you Nomad clinical team to achieve the right therapeutic range for each patient, every time.
-
Work with a Nomad representative to schedule your medication sessions. From there, be sure to coordinate with your therapist to ensure your Preparation and Integration sessions occur in a timely manner relative to your medication session. This ensures the maximum therapeutic outcome of your treatment.
If you don’t yet have a therapist or would like to work with one specialized in KAP, reach out to our Nomad Network.
-
At the appointed time, a Nomad Registered Nurse will arrive at your home or therapist’s office and begin your session.
It will start with centering on your goals of care, and your nurse will take basic vitals.
After administering your medication, your Nomad Nurse will periodically check vitals and ensure you experience no complications. Should any adverse event arise, your clinical team is on standby to address any issues.
After your session, your Nomad Nurse will again check vitals to ensure a return to baseline, before updating your record and wrapping up your session.
